Dec 8, 2011. I recently sent my 60D back to Canon service in NJ for a cleaning since my warranty was about to expire. It seems that the viewfinder is off on its focus. When I use auto focus, the viewfinder is out of focus but the image actually captured is in focus. NO, it has nothing to do with the diapoter, the meter and stats are in focus.
When using live view the mirror is bypassed and this is not an issue. fastHID wrote: Dumb rookie question I believe: My Canon 60D shows a difference in exposure results in Live View. Live View shots have a bit more exposure for the same settings. For example f/11 live view is 1/5 sec, through viewfinder 1/6 sec. I don't understand.
How 'bout "never". I shoot w/60D in the studio using Live View extensively for months now (and a T2i and 5DII and 40D before that) and I've never once had a camera overheat from using Live View. The new 60D is an upgrade to the popular 50D, and represents the middle of Canons lineup, above the T2i, but below the 7D and the 5D Mark II.It uses the Canon EF lens mount, which makes it compatible with a huge range of lenses, from ultra wide angles to ultra
If you plan on getting another Canon, tell them this situation with the 60d and use the loyalty program to get 20% off. As long as you're getting a new camera anyway, attempt the repair yourself. As far as I know, the live view flipping itself is because a tiny switch in the joint mount is stuck flipped.
The Canon 60D has a bit of an edge in image quality when compared to its direct rival from Nikon, the 7000D. While it might not be enough to turn any Nikon users away from a considerable lens investment, the 60D produces sharper images with finer details at ISO 800 and above.
